Rimmel is probably my all time favourite brand for drugstore lip products so when Rimmel introduced these Apocalips Lip Lacquer I knew I had to get my hands on them! I had high hopes and I can happily say that these did not disappoint. There are 8 colours to choose from that range from nudes, to pinks, to reds. Being a lover of bright colours I picked them up in shades 'Big Bang', 'Stellar' and 'Apocaliptic'.
Big Bang is a classic statement pillar box red...
...and Stellar is a gorgeous orange based red...
...whilst Apocaliptic is a shocking bright neon hot pink.
Now... I am a lover of matte lipsticks and hate anything sticky or lipgloss like being anywhere near my lips, I hate the texture and the look so when I first saw these I wasn't too keen as I thought they were like lipgloss, but being as the were by Rimmel, I was definitely going to try them... especially after seeing such brilliant reviews. I was not disappointed.
I really love these. The intense bright colours are extremely pigmented (if you're going to do lip colour you may as well go bold!). The product is easy to apply as it glides on smoothly giving loads of coverage. It has a creamy texture when applying that leaves a satin finish. The product has long lasting staying power and is non-sticky. I also really like the packaging, design of the tube and the easy applicator wand it has. There are 8 shades all together in this range and I would definitely pick up some more of these next time I'm looking for some more lipstick. I'd really like to try the nude/peach shades in the collection but being pale I find it quite difficult to get a shade that doesn't wash me out, I might try them whilst they are on offer!
