#8 Beauty: L'oreal Color Riche Serum Lipstick

L'oreal Color Riche Serum Lipstick in #S404 Luminous Amber

When I bought this lipstick, I didn't really expect this colour. I don't know why but I was expecting something a bit more pink (despite the amber name) because of the colour shown on the website. However, I am not disappointed as I love a coral lip colour, and that is exactly what it is. It's a nice shade, perfect for summer as it's not too bright and in your face but at the same time is a lovely, wearable day-to-night shade. The coverage is good but build-able which is can be a good or bad thing depending on whether you want a really intense pigment straight away or if you want a light colour that you can add to or strengthen later. The lipstick itself has a serum in the middle and as a result gives a lot of moisture. This lipstick is not at all drying nor matte (what I usually like), it applys smoothly and glides on easily. It also feels lightweight on the lips, which is always a positive. I really like this lipstick and this is definitely one I'll be taking away with my on holiday.

#8 New In & #7 Beauty: Beauty Haul from Fragrance Direct

So I decided I wanted to get a few bits recently after browsing online at Fragrance Direct. The name suggests that they mainly sell perfumes which is true but I think some would be surprised to know that they also sell loads of make up too. They are a fantastic website in fairness as they sell make-up from the more expensive brands such as Elizabeth Arden, Clinique, Calvin Klein and Yves Saint Laurent as well as more high street drugstore brands such as Revlon, Rimmel and Max Factor at really EXCELLENT prices!

I plan on reviewing all of these individually so this post is just to show you what I bought!
Here goes...

Rimmel Moisure Renew Lipsticks in
#850 Rouge, #220 Pink Chic, #520 Violet Pop and #240 Latino

The first thing in the haul are these lipsticks from Rimmel costing just 0.99p! Such a bargain. I LOVE these lipsticks and have them in a whole load of colours so when I saw these ones online I just had to get them... and for 99p you can't really go wrong.

Maybelline 'Fit Me' Foundation in #110 Porcelain £4.50 (RRP £7.99)
Maybelline 'Fit Me' Pressed Powder in #110 Porcelain £3.99 (RRP 5.99)

I've been wanting to try Maybelline's 'Fit Me' range for a while now so when I saw these on the new in make up section on the website I had to click onto them straight away. I've been looking for the concealer too to get the whole set but they've not added those to the website yet, hopefully they'll be stocking them though.

Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Cream Blush in #3 Honey and #4 Plum £5.50 each (RRP £24.00)

MASSIVE saving on these... a whopping £18.50! I'm really into cream blushes at the moment like the rest of the blogging world and I've been fancying these for a while and finally toke the plunge. I would never, ever, ever spend £24.00 on a blush, it's just so not worth it to me but for £5.50 I wanted to give them a go, especially as they're quite high end to me. I love my drugstore make up brands so this was a bit of a treat.

L'oreal Color Riche Serum Lipstick #S404 Luminous Amber £1.99 (RRP £8.69)

I saw a few swatches of this before I bought it and I quite liked the colour so thought I'd give it a go. I'm a massive lipstick fan and I'm always looking for a new colour or formula to try and liked the look of this. It's not something I'd usually go for with the serum in the middle as I love matte lipsticks but even if I'm not keen for £1.99 I can't really complain.

Invogue Feather Effect Nail Lacquer £2.50 each (RRP £3.49)

Invouge Concrete Effect Nail Lacquer £2.50 (RRP £3.49)

As well as being a huge lipstick fan I'm also a massive fan of nail colour, especially nail effects! They are so popular now with a whole variety of looks such as suede, beaded and magnetic styles as well as these concrete and feather effect ones I bought. I couldn't resist, even though Invogue is not a brand I've ever heard of before. They're also a much cheaper alternative to the Nails Inc ones which are around £11 a bottle.

Nivea Firming Body Lotion £3.99

Ok... so I didn't actually get this from Fragrance Direct, I've only just picked it up today to be honest in Home Bargains but I wanted to add it into this too. I've heard some good things about this body lotion but I'm not too sure, so I'm going to give it a try and get back to you. Firmer skin in just 2 weeks... we'll see!

Has anyone else used Fragrance Direct or bought any beauty products recently?

#2 Beauty: L'oreal Paris Nude Magique CC Cream

L'oreal Paris Nude Magique CC Cream- Anti Redness:  £9.99
Get it from Boots HERE or Superdrug HERE (Currently on offer with £2 off)

After all the buzz about bb creams and then cc creams, when I found out that L'oreal had created their own range I was really excited to try it. My all time favourite and go-to foundation is L'oreal's True Match Foundation so their brand of the ever growing popular creams was something I was looking forward to trying and expecting to like. I quite like the idea of not having to wear a foundation but having something light to give you a bit of coverage and hide those little marks or flaws you're not happy with on your face.
L'oreal has three cc creams available, one for anti-redness, one for anti-fatigue and one for anti-dulness. As I have very pale skin with some red areas on my cheeks the anti-redness was my first pick.

Here's the swatch:

Don't be scared when it comes out green... be more scared when it turns you orange. It is not a pretty sight. This product is something I would completely avoid if your pale like me. It does not turn into 'the perfect nude' I had hoped for unfortunately, but a horrific shade of bright orange. I was really disappointed with this, especially for the price and because I love L'oreal's foundation and other products so much too. I will agree with the product when it says it gives coverage, and coverage with only using a small amount, though I wouldn't say it's 'buildable' and nor would I agree with it giving you a 'perfectly even skin tone' as it just masks any sort of natural skin tone you have.

I would definitely recommend getting a sample of this or trying it out before you make your purchase, especially if you've got light to medium skin tone. You don't want to be looking like a wotsit!

Have you tried this product? What are your thoughts on it?
